Learn and Explore....

What are the most exquisite moments of life? The commonly heard answer to this question is 'The most cozy and comfy moments spent at a scenic destination with our loved ones.'
This reflects a fact that a majority of people aim at living a promising and comfortable life and a secure future. The desire of living a comfortable life very seldom puts us out of our comfort zone. So the learning itself has become a passive tool for the growth of our knowledge and hence realization of our dreams/goals . The higher the level of comfort, greater are the possibilities of learning under a normal frame of mind which can damage the logical, critical and creative thinking powers. In this era of technological advancement( Web revolution), its very easy to procure any information with the click of a button. Our dependency on these sources is rising at a lightening pace; however this easy access to the pool of knowledge is putting a dead end to our learning capabilities. In short, we have become resource constrained and continue to become so until we are willing to view learning from a new perspective.

Our learning gets converted into our actions so one has to be very particular about it and to develop the right way of learning one needs to have an active, curious and determined mind. Just as athletes build physical stamina by pushing past the point of exhaustion, just as runners get their second-wind by not giving up when their body initially protests, we can get the best learning by not giving up when our willpower initially protests.

I’ve deep respect for people who have come up in life the hard way and no doubt; they are the most successful people till date, the most renowned people who have made remarkable contributions to our society. Great are those men who despite of living in an antagonistic community learned the ingenuous way of moving up in life, despite of living amidst the wrathful denizens maintained their cool, undeterred by the frequent predicaments life threw at them, always learned what appeared beyond their reach and synchronized their desires with the needs of our society. All these accomplishments reveal a great secret for which I quote “No great things can be achieved in a normal frame of mind.”

We should be able to get past our comfort zone in order to achieve anything of great significance and utilize it as a place to rest -in not to live-in.
