What is human identity? Personality or character...

We all are very familiar with the words personality and character. We hear them quite often. Last night i was sitting in my room filled with darkness when these two words( I'd call them subject) appeared to me in a different light.
Please understand...I'm not adept at writing because I'm just a beginner and the subject appeared so enormous and far-reaching that i had my doubts of dealing with it unjustly but the real encouragement came from a series of under-developed thoughts that had been running in my mind all this while. So, i decided to pen them down.

The word personality seems to be a perfect measure of judgment on outward appearances. We judge others by their personality. In fact, most of us have a peculiar habit of watching people stealthily and cautiously. The more we gaze at others, the more we examine their personality feature by feature.
Personality is like the first gear in a car which puts the human wheels of success in motion( success in terms of public image, acts, attitudes and human interaction). But does it keep the wheels going? Specially when the wheels of success are to roll on a long highway of life.
There we acknowledge the need to shift the gears to a higher level which of course gets
us the best performance. Isn't it? Similarly, the role-play of character in human life can't be repudiated.

According to the old adage... "True success and enduring happiness can be experienced through the basic foundation of human character." Things like: integrity, fidelity, courage, patience, temperance, simplicity and modesty are the basic principles on which a human character develops.

We all live in society just like countless rivers live in the ocean, except for the fact that; a river loses its identity the moment it merges into the ocean, whereas we remain identifiable all our lives. To make our identity indelible, what we need is a beautiful combination of character and personality.
