Giving is getting...

Everyone has some questions unanswered, some tasks unfinished, some goals unaccomplished and some desires unfulfilled.

Life has a different meaning for each one of us and yet we are snared by a single purpose that pervades us all; the purpose of getting. All the focus is on getting, getting something or the other. It is the sole purpose of getting for which we seek favor, coordination or assistance either from society or from the higher source of power known as god.

‘Giving after getting’ has become a common notion for a majority of us. However, the results can be more fruitful if we ever so slightly reverse the above statement.

The first thought on this would definitely bring resentment as one may ask how we can give something which we don’t have or when we have very little which can be of no significance to others? That’s quite logical as well! But the proof can only be attained through personal experience.

We go to gymnasiums to gain strength, engage in outdoor games to gain stamina, we do aerobics or stretching exercises to increase our flexibility. All these objectives are reached only by giving away the strength we already possess, that’s why we feel exhausted after our day of exercising. The more strength we give, the more we get.

Similarly, we gain more knowledge by giving or applying it to the object of our purpose, otherwise the knowledge unused departs from the mind.

Money is a medium of exchange and money if invested properly can bring more money with it. That’s why all the major businesses have the best leaders who are quite familiar with the discipline of investing. For people without money can give valuable services in exchange for it.

So, it’s always 'getting after giving', but what’s more important is the background with which we give:)

Disparity unabridged...

India is now home to incredible stories of modernization, storehouse of talent and powerhouse of knowledge. Countries like USA have speculative fervor on our emerging scholars and graduates which has put them in a state of dilemma over their well established education system. They are facing stiff competition from a nation which was of no equivalence in the past.

India is taking huge leaps of advancement with diversified international strategies and efficacious business involvements. It has also become a happening place for foreign investors and holds a substantial position in the emerging markets portfolio.

From without, everything is coming up nicely on the path of becoming a powerful nation but from within the scenario looks quite different. There is a lot of time to focus and debate over narrow things which bring concussions between the political leaders but there is no time to look at the major drift that is catching up its ever widening pace, with the seeds of change being sown only for people who live on the upper edge in this country.

The riches are getting richer and the poor are becoming poorest. Its like one part of a body is moving hastily and the other is just limping at every step.

For example, the latest technological fizz is pertaining to the storage of data in clouds that makes file sharing, data migration and remote access more readily available to the educated class but that can be nothing more than a bad news for the majority of Indians who live in the absence of electricity- the most elementary need of technology. The advancement is confined to the major cities only while rest of the country looks stagnated. Stepping out 10 km from the periphery of any major city would reveal the true story to anyone from the educated world.

The population count has placed us in the runner up position and very soon we would be making it to the top with the current matrix of multiplying population. In such a scenario being only optimistic can not serve the purpose of connecting two far ends of our society.
With every problem comes a solution. However, a problem this big not only needs solution but also contribution. Little contribution out of our awareness can prepare the basic ground-work to abridge this gap. The will to contribute would itself eradicate the difference from the minds of young generation...:)

Life of a youth...

If we see the overall map of human life youth is the most fascinating place where everyone likes to live in while few actually realize the importance and value it has. If I revive the past; being a child I always dreamt of doing all the craziest things in my youth, things which were beyond my reach and my parent’s permission.

Now, living in the age of my dreams, I’m holding my feet above the fire, facing the harsh realities of life. I also think that down the line I would revisit this age time and again, trying to invigorate the youth that I had once lived, adding the colors of experience to it and thinking I could have bettered it by doing this and that, making my life more meaningful. The truth reveals that its very hard for young people to become faithful to their lives and harder for the old to become faithless...what an irony!

Life has become a trekking adventure where my journey began from a beautiful valley of childhood towards the peak of a mountain called youth. I found myself arrested in future thoughts of life, life which could be seen from the cliff of my youth, where every breath taking moment could be captured, where I could feel like standing on top of this world. Moving up the slope with bag full of expectations continuously jogging on my shoulders, moving through narrow, wide, difficult and easy paths, I have reached the place now.

But i feel exhausted, strained because of the difficulties I have encountered while climbing up. The mind is too consumed to embrace the beauty of this place and has lost the importance of seeing the most beautiful destination of childhood dreams, the youth. It is caught up in worrying thoughts, thoughts like worms which eat away the corpse. The mind has become tired of this adventure and I look down to get to the safest place where i can spend the rest of my time peacefully.

I think everyone goes through the same hardships in this world and remains invisible from others. Moreover, the advanced leaps in the competitive society make the youth live life in broken fragments because of which youth today seems to know the price of everything but the value of nothing.

I have come to believe that its the invisible which controls the visible like mind controls the man, electric current controls the machines, air controls human life and heat that controls the engine or nuclear explosion. The same invisible power in humans is the will to turn impossible into possible and it tells us to be open to experience the experience of life. So, if life is playing a prank...why not enjoy it? :)

Share before it ends.............

Nature! It surprises me ...whenever I engage my mind into the fine details of life, I find myself arrested in the thoughts of nature as I observe a close association between the two.

Nature gives us everything in abundance and in the most appropriate manner except for one thing and that’s our lifespan. It’s true yet strange that human life is amongst the most uncertain things nature has made and we take it for granted. We are consumed with this ignorance to such an extent that we often fail to look at our family n friends properly, rarely exchange direct eye contacts with them as we seem to believe that they are going to stay with us forever, don’t share our concerns and don’t even talk at full length with them keeping the most important things engraved in our hearts forever.

Neither do we have control over our birth nor death. We come from nature; we go back to nature just like a plane which if takes off has to return back to the ground regardless of the length of its flight.

Before we get ready for our departure from this world, before we rise up to our death bed, before the curtain falls down on us separating the body from its shadow, before we find our speech in stutter, voice breaking and the strength of speech washing away, before the blood is too tired of running into our veins and staggers through the heart, before our eyes are closed forever and we get no time to save more moments of life or before others walk out of our life silently…say it all, share everything, speak your heart with all your might...Share..even if you don't care. It maybe you who changes someone's life forever.

Sharing becomes meaningful if our cascading smile is adorned by others before our departure so that it can be carried ahead, long after we are dead and gone...

Learn and Explore....

What are the most exquisite moments of life? The commonly heard answer to this question is 'The most cozy and comfy moments spent at a scenic destination with our loved ones.'
This reflects a fact that a majority of people aim at living a promising and comfortable life and a secure future. The desire of living a comfortable life very seldom puts us out of our comfort zone. So the learning itself has become a passive tool for the growth of our knowledge and hence realization of our dreams/goals . The higher the level of comfort, greater are the possibilities of learning under a normal frame of mind which can damage the logical, critical and creative thinking powers. In this era of technological advancement( Web revolution), its very easy to procure any information with the click of a button. Our dependency on these sources is rising at a lightening pace; however this easy access to the pool of knowledge is putting a dead end to our learning capabilities. In short, we have become resource constrained and continue to become so until we are willing to view learning from a new perspective.

Our learning gets converted into our actions so one has to be very particular about it and to develop the right way of learning one needs to have an active, curious and determined mind. Just as athletes build physical stamina by pushing past the point of exhaustion, just as runners get their second-wind by not giving up when their body initially protests, we can get the best learning by not giving up when our willpower initially protests.

I’ve deep respect for people who have come up in life the hard way and no doubt; they are the most successful people till date, the most renowned people who have made remarkable contributions to our society. Great are those men who despite of living in an antagonistic community learned the ingenuous way of moving up in life, despite of living amidst the wrathful denizens maintained their cool, undeterred by the frequent predicaments life threw at them, always learned what appeared beyond their reach and synchronized their desires with the needs of our society. All these accomplishments reveal a great secret for which I quote “No great things can be achieved in a normal frame of mind.”

We should be able to get past our comfort zone in order to achieve anything of great significance and utilize it as a place to rest -in not to live-in.

What is human identity? Personality or character...

We all are very familiar with the words personality and character. We hear them quite often. Last night i was sitting in my room filled with darkness when these two words( I'd call them subject) appeared to me in a different light.
Please understand...I'm not adept at writing because I'm just a beginner and the subject appeared so enormous and far-reaching that i had my doubts of dealing with it unjustly but the real encouragement came from a series of under-developed thoughts that had been running in my mind all this while. So, i decided to pen them down.

The word personality seems to be a perfect measure of judgment on outward appearances. We judge others by their personality. In fact, most of us have a peculiar habit of watching people stealthily and cautiously. The more we gaze at others, the more we examine their personality feature by feature.
Personality is like the first gear in a car which puts the human wheels of success in motion( success in terms of public image, acts, attitudes and human interaction). But does it keep the wheels going? Specially when the wheels of success are to roll on a long highway of life.
There we acknowledge the need to shift the gears to a higher level which of course gets
us the best performance. Isn't it? Similarly, the role-play of character in human life can't be repudiated.

According to the old adage... "True success and enduring happiness can be experienced through the basic foundation of human character." Things like: integrity, fidelity, courage, patience, temperance, simplicity and modesty are the basic principles on which a human character develops.

We all live in society just like countless rivers live in the ocean, except for the fact that; a river loses its identity the moment it merges into the ocean, whereas we remain identifiable all our lives. To make our identity indelible, what we need is a beautiful combination of character and personality.

Truth reflects on an immaculate mirror

No relationship is an Island. There are threads that bind us all and pull at our lives - the demands of family, of friends, of work and of social obligation. And there are the times that the pull of those threads becomes greater than the strength of the relationship. In these times, no matter how much two people love each other, a relationship must grow strong or must torn apart.

I have come to believe that the defining moments of our lives are not acts of courage or greatness, rather they are the simple acts; expressions of virtue or vice that are tossed carelessly like seeds from a farmer's hand, leaving their fruits to be revealed at a future date. But not always. There are moments that are like cosmic examinations, there are those who pass and those who fail.

We want to believe that we have control of our lives. But we don't. We cant even promise our time. The best we can promise is our hearts. And the most we can hope for is to live each moment as if it's our last.
